Rail Traffic to be Suspended Between Delhi Junction and Delhi Shahdara on August 15 for Independence Day Ceremony

Rail traffic between Delhi Junction and Delhi Shahdara Junction will remain temporarily suspended from 6:45 am to 9:00 am on August 15, 2026, in view of security arrangements for the Independence Day ceremony.

The temporary suspension will affect several passenger services, with trains being cancelled, diverted, short-terminated, short-originated, regulated or rescheduled.

Trains Cancelled

The following trains will remain cancelled on August 15:

  • 74021 Delhi Junction–Saharanpur DMU
  • 74024 Saharanpur–Delhi Junction DMU
  • 54058 Shamli–Delhi Junction DMU
  • 64417 Ghaziabad–Delhi Junction MEMU

Trains Diverted

Three trains will operate through alternative routes:

  • 64414 Delhi Junction–Ghaziabad EMU will run via New Delhi–Tilak Bridge–Sahibabad.
  • 64111 Khurja Junction–Shakurbasti EMU will run via Sahibabad–Tilak Bridge–New Delhi–Delhi Kishanganj.
  • 64567 Bulandshahr–Tilak Bridge EMU will run via Sahibabad–Tilak Bridge.

Short-Termination and Short-Origination

Several services will have their originating or terminating stations changed:

  • 64402 Delhi Junction–Sahibabad will short-originate from New Delhi, running via New Delhi–Tilak Bridge–Sahibabad. Its link train, 64437 Ghaziabad–Delhi Junction, will be short-terminated at New Delhi.
  • 64152 Delhi Junction–Aligarh Junction MEMU will short-originate from Ghaziabad and remain cancelled between Delhi Junction and Ghaziabad.
  • 64022 Saharanpur–Delhi Junction MEMU will be short-terminated at Delhi Shahdara Junction.
  • 64025 Delhi Junction–Shamli MEMU will short-originate from Delhi Shahdara Junction and remain cancelled between Delhi Junction and Delhi Shahdara.
  • 64558 Haridwar–Delhi Junction will be short-terminated at Delhi Shahdara Junction.

Trains to be Regulated

The following trains will be regulated until clearance:

  • 18310 Jammu Tawi–Sambalpur Junction, dated August 14, will be regulated at Delhi Junction.
  • 15910 Lalgarh Junction–Dibrugarh, dated August 14, will be regulated at Delhi Junction.
  • 12379 Sealdah–Amritsar Junction, dated August 14, will be regulated at Delhi Shahdara Junction.

Rescheduled Trains

The following services will depart later than their scheduled timings:

  • 12038 Delhi Junction–Siddhabali Jan Shatabdi on August 15 will depart at 9:10 am instead of 7:15 am, after security clearance.
  • 15484 Delhi Junction–Alipur Duar Junction on August 15 will depart at 9:20 am instead of 7:51 am, after security clearance.
  • 12225 Azamgarh–Delhi Junction, dated August 14, will be rescheduled by 90 minutes from Azamgarh.
  • 14342 Mussoorie Express, dated August 14, will be rescheduled by 90 minutes from Dehradun.

Rail passengers travelling through Delhi Junction, Delhi Shahdara and adjoining stations have been advised to take note of the temporary changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
