Northern Railway Felicitates Staff for Outstanding Commercial and Passenger-Service Performance

Northern Railway organised an award and felicitation ceremony on Thursday to recognise employees for their meritorious performance during June 2026 in commercial activities, catering and passenger-service operations.

The ceremony was held under the guidance of Praveen Pandey, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), Northern Railway, who felicitated officials for their exemplary contribution to various passenger-facing and revenue-generating activities.

The awards recognised outstanding performance in commercial operations, including squad duties, station management, train manning, ticket checking and passenger services. The officials honoured for their performance included Shyam Bihari Yadav, TTI/BSB (LKO); Simranjit Singh, Dy. CIT/UMB; Vipin Tiwari, TTI/BE (MB); Dinesh Kumar Mishra, STE/BSB (LKO); Harkesh Meena, TTI/RMU (MB); Ravindra Yadav, TTI/PYGS (LKO); and Anil Kumar-I, CTTI/HW (MB).

Northern Railway also presented an appreciation note to Jitendra Kaushik, CMI/Marketing, in recognition of his contribution.

A special recognition was given to Piyush Sagar, CCTC/JUC (FZR), for his commendable vigilance and noteworthy passenger-service efforts. Sagar played an important role in detecting a person impersonating a Railway Vigilance Inspector at JRC. His alertness and timely action demonstrated the importance of vigilance among frontline railway personnel and helped protect the credibility and security of the railway system.

The performance of the Commercial and Ticket Checking staff during June 2026 also contributed significantly to revenue generation for Northern Railway. According to the railway, the dedicated efforts of the award-winning TTE staff resulted in revenue earnings of ₹64,25,380 during the month.

The achievement was highlighted as an example of how effective ticket checking, passenger interaction, vigilance and enforcement can contribute not only to improving railway revenues but also to maintaining discipline and service standards across the network.

Congratulating the awardees, Praveen Pandey appreciated their dedication, vigilance, teamwork and commitment to passenger satisfaction. He emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism in commercial and passenger-service activities.

The ceremony also recognised the broader role played by commercial staff in ensuring a smooth passenger experience. From ticket checking and revenue protection to station services and passenger assistance, these employees remain among the most visible representatives of the railway system.

Northern Railway said the recognition was intended to encourage employees to continue demonstrating efficiency, integrity and alertness in their respective duties. The performance of the awardees during June was cited as an example of the contribution that dedicated frontline staff can make towards revenue enhancement and service excellence.

The felicitation ceremony thus served both as a recognition of individual achievements and as an encouragement for railway employees to maintain a strong focus on passenger satisfaction, vigilance, revenue generation and efficient service delivery.
