RPF, GRP, Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad Carry Out Intensive Security Inspection of Station Premises, Platforms, Trains and Parking Areas

In view of the anticipated increase in passenger footfall and train movements during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, a joint security team comprising the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Dog Squad conducted an intensive security checking operation at Prayagraj Junction on Friday.

The special security drive was aimed at strengthening safety arrangements at the railway station and ensuring the secure and smooth movement of passengers during the festive season.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, Prayagraj, and under the guidance of Deepak Kumar Azad, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Prayagraj.

During the operation, security personnel thoroughly inspected all major sensitive and crowded locations across the station. The checking covered platforms, passenger trains, parking areas, circulating areas, foot overbridges and other parts of the station premises.

Special attention was given to passengers’ luggage and suspicious or unattended articles. The Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad also assisted in inspecting the station premises and passenger trains to identify and prevent any potential security threats.

As part of the awareness drive, passengers were advised not to carry inflammable or explosive materials while travelling by train. They were also cautioned against touching unattended articles and advised to immediately inform the RPF or GRP if they notice any suspicious person or object within the railway premises.

Railway authorities are implementing additional security measures during the festive season to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers. Joint checking operations, continuous surveillance and other preventive security arrangements are being undertaken as part of these efforts.

According to the railway authorities, no suspicious object or objectionable activity was detected during the checking operation.

The railway administration reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and stated that intensive security checks and surveillance activities would continue at Prayagraj Junction throughout the Diwali and Chhath festival period.
