Railways Conducts Security and Awareness Drive at Subedarganj Station Ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja
Intensive checks carried out at platforms, waiting halls and parcel office; passengers cautioned against drugging incidents and carrying inflammable materials on trains

During the campaign, Sub-Inspector Rahat Singh Yadav and Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandrabhan Singh, along with other railway security personnel, carried out intensive inspections at various locations across the station premises. The inspection also covered Train No. 14163 Up Sangam Express to strengthen security arrangements for passengers travelling during the festive season.
The security team thoroughly checked several areas of the station, including platforms, waiting halls, the parcel office and other important locations. The inspection was aimed at identifying suspicious objects or activities that could pose a threat to passenger safety. According to the Railway administration, no objectionable or suspicious items were found during the checking operation.
Passengers Alerted Against Drugging Incidents
A major focus of the awareness campaign was to prevent incidents of drugging and theft targeting passengers during train journeys. Railway security personnel interacted with passengers and advised them to remain vigilant, particularly while accepting food and beverages from strangers.
Passengers were cautioned against accepting eatables, drinks or other consumable items offered by unknown persons during their journey, as criminals sometimes use such tactics to make passengers unconscious and rob them of their valuables.
Travellers were also advised to keep their belongings under constant watch and exercise caution while interacting with unfamiliar persons. The railway personnel emphasised the importance of remaining alert, especially during crowded festive journeys when the possibility of theft and other criminal activities may increase.
Warning Against Carrying Firecrackers and Inflammable Materials
The campaign also focused on preventing fire-related accidents in trains. Passengers were informed about the risks associated with carrying firecrackers and other inflammable substances during railway journeys.
Railway security personnel specifically advised passengers not to carry firecrackers, petrol, diesel or other highly inflammable materials in trains. Such substances can pose serious safety hazards, particularly in crowded coaches, where even a minor incident could endanger the lives of several passengers.
The awareness drive highlighted the importance of following railway safety regulations and cooperating with security personnel to maintain a safe travel environment.
Security Measures Intensified During Festive Season
With passenger movement expected to increase significantly during Diwali and Chhath Puja, the Railway administration is giving priority to strengthening security arrangements at stations and aboard trains.
The administration has stated that such inspection and awareness campaigns are being conducted regularly to prevent criminal activities, identify potential safety threats and educate passengers about precautionary measures.
The initiative at Subedarganj Railway Station is part of the broader efforts of the Prayagraj Division to ensure safe, secure and hassle-free railway journeys during the festive season.
Passengers have been urged to remain alert, avoid suspicious food and beverages offered by strangers, refrain from carrying prohibited inflammable materials and immediately report any suspicious activity to railway security personnel.
