Indian Railways Revises Timings of 45 Trains; Humsafar Services to Shift to Anand Vihar, Nauchandi Express to Bypass Lucknow

Indian Railways has announced a comprehensive revision of train timings, terminal stations and routes affecting 45 listed train services connecting Delhi and the National Capital Region with Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and other parts of the country. The revised schedules will come into effect in phases, beginning October 28, 2026, with additional changes scheduled through January 2027.
The notification covers several major long-distance trains, including Poorva Express, Humsafar Express, Duronto Express, Vaishali Express, Prayagraj Express, Rewa Express, Vikramshila Express, Tejas Rajdhani Express and Sampoorna Kranti Express. Several local and passenger services operating through Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Rewari will also see changes.
Among the significant developments, the Poorva Express services will be extended to Shakurbasti, selected Humsafar Express services will shift their Delhi terminal from New Delhi to Anand Vihar Terminal, and the Nauchandi Express will bypass Lucknow from January 1, 2027.
Passengers travelling during the upcoming festive and winter travel season should check their train’s revised arrival and departure times before leaving for the station.
1. Poorva Express to Extend Operations to Shakurbasti
Two pairs of Poorva Express services connecting Howrah and New Delhi will have revised timings and an extension to Shakurbasti.

The extension will provide an additional terminal point at Shakurbasti for these services. Passengers boarding or alighting in the Delhi region should pay particular attention to the revised terminal arrangements.
2. Humsafar Express Services to Shift to Anand Vihar Terminal
Several Humsafar Express services will see changes in arrival or departure timings. Two services operating between Prayagraj and Delhi will also have their terminal stations changed in January 2027.

The shift from New Delhi to Anand Vihar Terminal is an important change for passengers travelling on trains 12275 and 12276. Travellers should verify the terminal printed on their tickets and the applicable date of the change to avoid reaching the wrong station.
3. Changes to Major Express, Rajdhani and Duronto Services
Several important long-distance trains arriving in Delhi will reach their destinations later under the revised schedules.

The notification also revises the timings of train 12427 Rewa–Anand Vihar Rewa Express from October 28. Its Ghaziabad arrival and departure will change to 6:18 am and 6:20 am, respectively, while its Anand Vihar arrival will move from 6:40 am to 6:55 am.
Train 12417 Prayagraj–New Delhi Prayagraj Express will reach Ghaziabad at 6:28 am and depart at 6:30 am, with New Delhi arrival moving from 7:00 am to 7:15 am.
Train 12225 Azamgarh–Delhi Jn. Kaifiyat Express will reach Ghaziabad at 6:38 am and depart at 6:40 am. Its Delhi arrival will be revised from 7:05 am to 7:25 am.
4. Nauchandi Express to Bypass Lucknow
A significant route change has been announced for both directions of the Nauchandi Express, connecting Saharanpur and Prayagraj Sangam.

The notification states that the existing route between Saharanpur and Alam Nagar will remain unchanged for train 14242. For train 14241, the Lucknow stop will be omitted, with the service routed through the alternative line. Passengers using Lucknow station should check the revised route before booking or travelling.
5. More Changes Affecting Prayagraj, Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh
Several other services operating through Uttar Pradesh will have revised schedules.

Train 22438 Anand Vihar–Prayagraj Humsafar Express will also see a substantial change in its departure and intermediate timings from October 29. The revised Kanpur arrival is 4:10 am, compared with the existing 3:25 am, while Prayagraj arrival shifts from 6:20 am to 7:55 am.
6. Passenger and EMU Services Also Affected
The changes extend to suburban and passenger services in Delhi-NCR.
Train 64111 Khurja–Shakurbasti EMU will reach Ghaziabad at 7:29 am, Sahibabad at 7:40 am, Delhi Junction at 8:13 am and Shakurbasti at 9:15 am from October 28.
Train 64437 Ghaziabad–Delhi Junction EMU will start from Ghaziabad at 5:45 am instead of 6:10 am. Its revised schedule includes arrival at New Delhi at 6:33 am and Delhi Junction at 7:35 am.
Train 54085 Delhi Junction–Satrod Passenger will depart Delhi Junction at 6:35 am instead of 7:10 am. It will reach Gurgaon at 7:38 am and Rewari Junction at 9:25 am, with the revised Rewari departure set for 10:20 am.
Other services, including the Farraka Express trains 15734 and 15744, the Banaras–Dehradun Express, the Sawtantrta Sainani Express and the Udhna–Danapur Express, will also have selected timing changes in the coming weeks.
7. Check Revised Schedules Before Travelling
Indian Railways has advised passengers to obtain the latest information through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by calling railway helpline 139.
Since the revisions will take effect on different dates, passengers should verify the specific schedule applicable to their journey. Particular attention is required for trains whose terminal stations are changing or whose routes will bypass existing stops.
The railway notification lists changes across 45 services, with the earliest revisions taking effect on October 28, 2026, and further adjustments continuing into January 2027.
