Indian Railways Approves ₹209 Crore for Electronic Interlocking at Seven Solapur Division Stations

Indian Railways has approved ₹209 crore for installing Electronic Interlocking (EI) systems at seven stations in the Solapur Division of Central Railway.
The project covers Mohol, Mundhewadi, Bale, Solapur, Hotgi Junction–Hotgi A Cabin, Shahabad and Wadi Junction on the High Density Network (HDN) 7 route. Kavach, Automatic Block Signalling and Centralised Traffic Control works have also been sanctioned on the route.
The modern computer-based signalling system will replace conventional relay-based interlocking, improving the reliability of point and signal control, speeding up fault detection and restoration, and simplifying maintenance.
The EI installations will also support the implementation of Kavach, India’s indigenous Automatic Train Protection system, while strengthening railway safety and operational efficiency on the high-density route.
