2 coaches of Purvanchal Special Express derails near Muzaffarpur, no injuries

Two coaches of the Gorakhpur-Kolkata Purvanchal Special Express derailed near Muzaffarpur on Tuesday, but all passengers are safe, the railways said.

A second AC coach and a sleeper class coach of the train, which started its journey from Gorakhpur at 11.30 am on Tuesday, got derailed just after crossing Silaut station, 13 km away from Muzaffarpur, it said.

The DRM of Samastipur along with senior officials are at the accident site.

All passengers have been shifted to the front portion of the train which has resumed its onward journey. In Samastipur station additional coaches will be attached to the train and it will then depart for Kolkata.
