East Central Railway GM Dimpy Garg Inspects Digha Bridge Halt–Jhajha Section, Reviews Safety and Passenger Amenities
Inspection covers track maintenance, station cleanliness and infrastructure development; Jhajha MEMU Shed also reviewed

The inspection was aimed at assessing the operational readiness of railway infrastructure, reviewing maintenance practices and identifying areas requiring improvement to make train operations safer, smoother and more efficient.
During the journey, the General Manager observed railway infrastructure and passenger facilities at several stations, including Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur and Barh. He reviewed the availability and condition of passenger amenities, sanitation arrangements and infrastructure-related works at these locations.

Garg directed the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with prescribed safety standards and strengthen maintenance practices across the inspected section. He also stressed the importance of maintaining high levels of cleanliness at railway stations to provide passengers with a better travel experience.
Focus on Railway Safety and Infrastructure Development
Railway safety remained a key priority during the inspection. The General Manager reviewed the condition of railway infrastructure and the arrangements supporting safe train operations along the Digha Bridge Halt–Jhajha section.
He instructed officials to ensure that all prescribed safety norms were followed without compromise. Regular monitoring, effective maintenance and adherence to established operational procedures were highlighted as essential elements in maintaining the reliability of railway services.
The inspection also covered infrastructure development activities at the stations along the route. Garg directed the officials concerned to accelerate ongoing works and ensure that projects were completed within their stipulated deadlines.
Timely execution of infrastructure projects is important for improving station facilities, strengthening operational efficiency and meeting the changing requirements of railway passengers. The emphasis on monitoring progress and maintaining construction standards reflects the importance of coordinated efforts by railway departments.

Jhajha MEMU Shed Inspected
Following the window trailing inspection, the General Manager visited the Jhajha MEMU Shed to review maintenance arrangements for Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trainsets.
During the visit, he inspected the facilities associated with MEMU rake maintenance and reviewed various internal sections of the shed. The inspection focused on maintenance practices and the arrangements in place to ensure the safe and reliable operation of MEMU services.
MEMU trains play an important role in meeting the daily transportation needs of passengers, particularly on short- and medium-distance routes. Regular and quality maintenance of these trainsets is essential for ensuring operational reliability, passenger safety and the efficient utilisation of railway assets.
Garg instructed the officials to ensure regular, systematic and high-quality maintenance of MEMU rakes. He reiterated that passenger safety must remain the highest priority and that all maintenance activities should strictly comply with the prescribed technical and safety standards.
The emphasis on maintenance quality is particularly significant for services that cater to frequent passenger movement and depend on the consistent availability of trainsets.
Cleanliness and Passenger Convenience Remain Priorities
The inspection also highlighted the importance of cleanliness and passenger amenities at railway stations. The General Manager directed officials to maintain high standards of sanitation and ensure that available facilities remain in satisfactory condition.
He stressed that infrastructure development must go hand in hand with effective maintenance and improved passenger services. Railway officials were instructed to monitor station facilities regularly and address deficiencies promptly.
The directions issued during the inspection covered three major priorities: strict adherence to safety standards, improvement of passenger amenities and cleanliness, and timely completion of infrastructure development works.
