Understanding NTA Scores
NTA Scores are normalized percentiles based on relative performance across multiple shifts. The formula used is:
NTA Score = 100 × (Number of candidates appeared in the shift with raw score ≤ candidate’s score) / Total candidates in the shift
This ensures fairness in a multi-shift examination. The score is not equivalent to raw marks or percentage.
Robust Security and Transparent Conduct
NTA implemented stringent measures for the smooth and fair conduct of the exam:
- AI-based face comparison, OTP-based Aadhaar e-KYC, and live photo verification.
- Mandatory Aadhaar authentication in Session 2.
- Pre-examination centre audits and random deployment of observers.
- Live CCTV surveillance with AI analytics, 5G jammers, and biometric attendance (including during bio-breaks).
- Special support for PwBD candidates and international centres through Indian embassies.
- Question papers and provisional answer keys were released for transparency; candidates could challenge them.
In Session 2, results of 57 candidates were withheld due to unfair means, and 56 more due to document discrepancies.
Next Steps for Aspirants
Candidates can download their scorecards from the official websites: www.nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in. The results for Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning) will be declared separately.
Qualified candidates meeting the JEE Advanced 2026 cut-offs can now prepare for the next stage. NTA has extended its best wishes to all students appearing for JEE (Advanced) 2026.
For any queries, candidates may contact the helpline at +91-11-40759000 or email jeemain@nta.ac.in.
This year’s results once again highlight the intense competition and high standards of India’s premier engineering entrance examination, with thousands of aspirants now one step closer to their dream of studying at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other top institutions.
