Rail Traffic Curbs: Multiple Trains Cancelled, Diverted and Rescheduled From September 11 to 13
Railway authorities have announced a detailed train-handling plan involving cancellations, diversions, short-originations, short-terminations, rescheduling and regulation of passenger services from September 11 to September 13, 2026. The changes are being implemented for operational reasons and include a significant number of EMU/MEMU services as well as several long-distance Rajdhani, Tejas Rajdhani, Superfast and other express trains.
The measures are particularly significant for passengers travelling through the Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Delhi Shahdara, Palwal, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin corridors. Several trains will be diverted through alternate routes, while a number of local services will either be cancelled or operated from alternate terminals to create paths for diverted trains.
The railway’s plan covers three consecutive days—September 11, 12 and 13—with separate arrangements for each day. Passengers travelling during this period have been advised to check their train’s latest status before starting their journey.

September 11: EMU Services and Major Express Trains Affected
On September 11, several local EMU services between Ghaziabad, New Delhi, Palwal and other NCR destinations have been cancelled or altered.
Among the cancelled services are train 64015 Palwal–Shakurbasti EMU, while train 64429 Ghaziabad–New Delhi EMU has been cancelled and its link arrangement modified, with train 64110 planned to short-originate from Ghaziabad. Similarly, train 64433 Ghaziabad–New Delhi EMU is cancelled, with train 64114 to short-originate from Ghaziabad.
The 64492 New Delhi–Palwal Ladies EMU is also cancelled, with the associated link train 64491 affected. Train 64491 itself, operating towards Shamli, is also listed as cancelled.

The railway has also planned diversions for several important long-distance trains. 20840 New Delhi–Ranchi Rajdhani Express will be diverted through New Delhi–Delhi Junction–Sahibabad, while 12424 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express will also follow an altered route through Delhi Junction and Sahibabad.
The plan also includes 12314 New Delhi–Sealdah Rajdhani, 12306 New Delhi–Howrah Rajdhani, 22812 New Delhi–Bhubaneswar Rajdhani, and other services on diverted routes.
Train 64419 Hazrat Nizamuddin–Ghaziabad EMU will be diverted through Hazrat Nizamuddin–Tilak Bridge–BPNL–Sahibabad.
Trains to Start or End at Alternate Stations
To create operating paths for diverted trains, several passenger services will not run to their normal terminal stations.
For September 11, train 64582 Delhi Junction–Hathras Qila MEMU will short-originate from Sahibabad, while 64583 Tundla–Delhi Junction MEMU will short-terminate at Sahibabad. Train 64558 Saharanpur–Delhi Junction MEMU will short-terminate at Delhi Shahdara, and 64557 Delhi Junction–Saharanpur MEMU will short-originate from Delhi Shahdara.
These changes are directly linked to the creation of paths for diverted trains.
Long-Distance Trains to Start Late
Several trains scheduled for September 11 will also face delayed departures.
The 12724 New Delhi–Hyderabad Superfast Express and 12616 New Delhi–Chennai Grand Trunk Express are scheduled to depart 120 minutes late from New Delhi. The 12926 Paschim Express will be rescheduled by 90 minutes from Amritsar.

September 12: Wider Impact on NCR Services
The disruption continues on September 12, with a larger set of local services affected.
Train 64425 Ghaziabad–New Delhi EMU and 64432 New Delhi–Ghaziabad EMU are cancelled. Trains 64013 and 64015 Palwal–Shakurbasti EMUs had already been cancelled in connection with RLDA work at Faridabad.
Other affected services include 64429, 64433, 64441, 64492, 64410, 64443, 64418, 64445 and 64412. Several cancellations involve linked services being short-originated or short-terminated at Ghaziabad.

Several major express trains will use alternate routes via Delhi Shahdara and Sahibabad.

The plan also diverts 11842 Kurukshetra–Khajuraho Express through Adarsh Nagar Delhi, Delhi Safdarjung and Okhla.
September 12: Rescheduled and Regulated Trains
A number of major trains will also start late or be rescheduled on September 12.
The 12951 Tejas Rajdhani from Mumbai Central to New Delhi will be rescheduled by 90 minutes, while the 20808 Amritsar–Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express and 11841 Khajuraho–Kurukshetra Express will also be rescheduled by 90 minutes.
Other trains, including the 12952 Tejas Rajdhani, 22824 New Delhi–Bhubaneswar Tejas Rajdhani, 12310 New Delhi–Rajendra Nagar Tejas Rajdhani, 22362 Amrit Bharat Express and 12622 Tamil Nadu SF Express, are scheduled for delayed departures from New Delhi.
September 13: Further Cancellations and Diversions
The operational changes continue on September 13. Train 64053 Palwal–Ghaziabad EMU is cancelled, while 64071 Ballabgarh–Shakurbasti EMU and 64078 New Delhi–Palwal EMU are listed as already cancelled in connection with RLDA work at Faridabad.
Train 64439 Ghaziabad–Delhi Junction EMU is also cancelled, with linked service 64406 remaining cancelled. Train 64411 Sahibabad–Delhi Junction EMU and 64031 Ghaziabad–Shakurbasti EMU are among other affected services.

The railway has also announced short-termination of 64905 Mathura–New Delhi EMU at Palwal, while 64077 Palwal–New Delhi EMU will short-terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin.
Passenger Advisory
The extensive changes mean that passengers travelling through Delhi, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Delhi Shahdara, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Palwal should check their train status before leaving for the station. Some services may not reach their normal terminals, while others may use alternate routes or depart substantially later than scheduled.
The railway’s advisory specifically directs passengers to NTES or railway enquiry number 139 for updates.
Passengers should therefore verify the train number, date of journey, revised origin or destination, diversion route and departure timing before travelling between September 11 and September 13. The changes are operational in nature and are designed to facilitate the movement of diverted trains while maintaining train operations through the affected Delhi-NCR corridors.
