Northern Railway Cancels 28 Train Services Ahead of October 10 Protest in Delhi

Northern Railway has announced the cancellation of several train services in view of a planned protest and demonstration in Central Delhi on October 10, 2026. The decision follows a traffic advisory warning of severe road congestion around New Delhi Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station between 4 am and 2 pm on Saturday.

The cancellations are intended to facilitate passenger movement and manage operational challenges arising from the anticipated traffic restrictions and congestion in the national capital. The affected services include several long-distance express trains connecting Delhi with Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and other regions.

According to the cancellation notice issued by Northern Railway, multiple trains scheduled to arrive at or depart from New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Tilak Bridge will remain cancelled on October 9 and 10. Some services have also been cancelled due to the non-availability of rakes.

Passengers planning to travel to or from Delhi during this period have been advised to check the latest train status before leaving for their respective stations.

Major Express Trains Cancelled

Several important trains connecting Bihar with the national capital have been cancelled. These include the Magadh Express, Tejas Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti Express and Amrit Bharat Express.

The cancellation of these services is likely to affect passengers travelling from Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh and other parts of northern India to Delhi.

Northern Railway’s notice also lists several other services connecting Uttar Pradesh with the national capital.

Jabalpur–Hazrat Nizamuddin Services Cancelled

Three services connecting Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh with Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi have also been included in the cancellation list.

Several services connecting Rajasthan and Haryana with Delhi have also been cancelled. The list includes trains operating between Udaipur City, Shri Ganganagar, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

The cancellation of these services will affect passengers travelling between Delhi and several destinations in Rajasthan and Haryana.

Passengers Advised to Check Train Status

The planned protest and the accompanying traffic advisory are expected to affect road movement around key railway stations in Central Delhi during the specified hours on October 10. Passengers heading to New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations may face difficulties reaching the stations on time because of traffic congestion.

Railway passengers should confirm their train’s running and cancellation status through official railway information channels before travelling. They should also allow additional time for reaching stations and check the availability of alternative services wherever necessary.
