Fire Extinguisher Activation Incident on Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express

Today, at approximately 09:45 AM, an incident on the 12565 Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express caused a brief disruption as it prepared to depart from Samastipur Station. A complaint of smoke emanating from a general coach prompted immediate action from railway officials. Upon investigation, it was determined that the cause of concern was a passenger who had inadvertently triggered a fire extinguisher while sitting on it. This action resulted in the release of dry chemical into the coach, which caused alarm among passengers as they witnessed the substance spreading.

Fortunately, during the inspection that followed, passenger Sohan Rai, who was also traveling in the same coach, clarified that there had been no actual fire or significant incident. His confirmation reassured others on board that it was merely the fire-fighting chemical that had been dispersed.

Following the swift investigation and assurance of safety, the train was cleared to resume its journey at 10:28 AM. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that emergency equipment is not misused or tampered with during travel.

In response to the incident, the East Central Railway emphasizes the critical need for passengers to strictly comply with safety regulations while traveling on trains. Such incidents underscore the responsibility of both railway authorities and passengers in maintaining a safe and secure environment onboard trains. As travel resumes and operations continue, adherence to safety measures remains paramount to prevent disruptions and ensure the well-being of all passengers.
