Trial Run Initiated Beyond Priority Section: Namo Bharat Train Advances to Modi Nagar South

Following the successful launch of the Priority Section on the Delhi-Meerut-Ghaziabad RRTS corridor, a significant milestone has been achieved with the commencement of the trial run in the section beyond it. The Namo Bharat train underwent a trial run from Duhai to Modi Nagar South station today, marking a pivotal step towards the operationalization of this segment.

The trial run process kicked off by charging the electric OHE (Overhead Equipment) with a capacity of 25 KV from Murad Nagar Receiving Sub Station to Modi Nagar South. Subsequently, the Namo Bharat train traversed this section, departing from Duhai station, reaching Murad Nagar station, and covering a distance of approximately 12 km to Modi Nagar South.

Currently, the Namo Bharat trains are undergoing trial runs to assess track and traction capabilities. Initially, the train is operated manually under the Train Control Management System, covering the distance from Muradnagar station to Modi Nagar South at a conservative speed. Following this, the train returned to Duhai, gradually increasing its speed.

The next operationalized section of the RRTS corridor for the public, after the Priority Section, spans 25 km between Duhai and Meerut South RRTS station. This segment features four stations: Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar North, Modi Nagar South, and Meerut South. Construction activities, including track laying, OHE installation, signalling and telecom, and electrical works, have been progressing rapidly in this section. Track laying is nearing completion, and other works are in their final stages. The Muradnagar RSS is prepared to supply electricity from Murad Nagar to Meerut South. Soon, OHE will be charged between Modi Nagar North and Meerut South stations, initiating trial runs with trains running up to Meerut South station.

The Namo Bharat train was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the 17 km long priority section between Sahibabad to Duhai Depot on October 20, 2023. Now, NCRTC is actively working towards the operationalization of the subsequent section.
