Northern Railway sets five new records of loading of food grain in a row
Best ever originating loading of 6.00 MT achieved during Month of Aug 2020
Northern Railway achieved the highest single day originating earnings of Rs 31.88 crore amongst Zonal Railways

Shri Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, Northern Railway and North Central Railway has informed that, Northern Railway has set five new records of loading of food grain in a row during the month of August,2020. Northern Railway achieved highest single day loading on 29th of August, 2020 by loading of 59 rakes, breaking the previous four records in recent past (24th July, 20 of 55 rakes 22nd April of 54 rakes, 17th April 53 Rakes &9th April of 51 Rakes respectively). He further explained that Northern Railway has registered best ever originating loading of 6.00 MT during the month of Aug 2020 i .e. improvement of 43.12% over Last year and Best ever Originating loading of 25.43 MT achieved during the period of Apr-Aug. i.e. improvement of 29.41% over Last year. Further he added, that today 400th Annapoorna Train (5000 tonne) Long lead-Long haul grain train run by Northern Railway.
Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, Northern Railway and North Central Railway further informed that Northern Railway has achieved the highest single day originating earnings of Rs 31.88 crore amongst Zonal Railways on 17.8.2020. Northern Railway has loaded more freight traffic; it has also carried substantially high volume of freight traffic on its network, leading to healthy growth in aproportioned earning & Carried NTKM. Carried NTKMs on Northern Railway are increasing (Apr 2507, May 2734, June 3769, July 4471, Aug 5142.75) i .e. improvement of about 105.14% overApril’20. At present Northern Railway’s share is about 9.32% of IR’s carried NTKMs. He said, the decision of setup of Business Development Units at Zonal & Divisional level has now started giving the yield.
