Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia Launches New Flight Routes Enhancing Air Connectivity

Daily flight connecting Ayodhya, Gwalior, Bangalore & Delhi

Gwalior, January 16, 2024: Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, inaugurated new flight routes connecting Gwalior to Bengaluru, Delhi, and Ayodhya in a significant move to enhance air connectivity across the country. The inauguration ceremony, attended by Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, marked a milestone with the commencement of daily flights linking Ayodhya, Gwalior, Bangalore, and Delhi.

Minister Scindia expressed excitement, stating that this initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to bolster India’s economic and spiritual strengths through world-class connectivity. Gwalior, now connected to six cities, witnesses 33 weekly flight movements, thanks to Air India Express for facilitating connections to Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Delhi.

Highlighting the commitment to infrastructure development, Minister Scindia announced the imminent completion of the new Gwalior terminal, valued at Rs. 500 crore, within the next few days. The state-of-the-art terminal spanning 2 lakh square feet aims to meet the region’s futuristic demands while incorporating elements of history, culture, and civilization.

Reflecting on the aviation sector’s progress in Madhya Pradesh, Minister Scindia noted the substantial increase in air connectivity from 13 to 31 cities since 2014. Additionally, the state has witnessed international connectivity with Dubai and Sharjah, along with a rise in weekly aircraft movements from 540 to over 1000. The government is actively investing in infrastructure, with ongoing projects like the new terminal at Jabalpur, development of Rewa airport, and new facilities in Datia and Satna.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Road Transport and Highways, Gen (Dr) V.K. Singh(Retd.), emphasized that the new routes underscore the government’s commitment to making air travel accessible and convenient. Air India Express will operate daily flights on the Bangalore – Gwalior – Delhi – Ayodhya – Delhi – Gwalior – Bangalore routes, providing a seven-day-a-week service to passengers.

The flight schedule for the new routes is as follows:

  • IX1590: BLR to GWL, Departure: 05:30, Arrival: 08:05
  • IX1590: GWL to DEL, Departure: 08:35, Arrival: 09:40
  • IX1590: DEL to AYJ, Departure: 10:15, Arrival: 11:35
  • IX1592: AYJ to DEL, Departure: 12:05, Arrival: 13:25
  • IX1592: DEL to GWL, Departure: 14:00, Arrival: 15:05
  • IX1592: GWL to BLR, Departure: 15:35, Arrival: 18:10
