Prime Minister Narendra Modi Embarks on Spiritual Visit to Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a spiritual journey today as he performed darshan and puja at the revered Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. The Prime Minister immersed himself in the sacred atmosphere, listening to verses from the Ranganatha Ramayan in Telugu, a devotional experience echoing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

During the visit, the tale of Jatayu unfolded before Prime Minister Modi through the captivating traditional shadow puppetry art form from Andhra Pradesh, famously known as Tholu Bommalata. The visual representation of the Ramayan through this ancient art form added a unique and cultural dimension to the spiritual journey.

In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi shared his sentiments, stating, “For all those who are devotees of Prabhu Shri Ram, Lepakshi holds great significance. Today, I had the honor of praying at the Veerbhadra Temple. I prayed that the people of India be happy, healthy, and scale new heights of prosperity.”

He further added, “At the Veerbhadra Temple, Lepakshi, heard the Ranganatha Ramayana and also saw a puppet show on the Ramayan.” The Prime Minister’s visit to the Veerbhadra Temple not only reinforces the cultural and spiritual roots but also signifies the importance of preserving and celebrating the diverse traditions embedded in India’s cultural fabric.
