Successful Ticket Checking Drive on Vijayawada–Rajahmundry Section Yields Rs.13.27 Lakh

In a focused effort to ensure ticket compliance and maintain travel discipline, an intensive Ticket Checking Drive conducted on the Vijayawada–Rajahmundry rail section resulted in an impressive collection of Rs.13.27 lakh in penalties.

A total of 1973 cases were registered during the drive, encompassing 978 instances of ticketless travel, 978 cases of irregular travel, and 17 incidents of unbooked luggage. Penalties were levied accordingly, amounting to Rs.8.28 lakh for ticketless travel, Rs.4.91 lakh for irregular travel, and Rs.8400 for unbooked luggage. The significant funds collected underscore the railway authorities’ commitment to maintaining the integrity of the travel system and encouraging adherence to ticketing regulations.
