Railways to Introduce Special Trains to Ease Passenger Travel and Reduce Crowding

New Delhi, May 28, 2023 – In an effort to improve passenger convenience and alleviate overcrowding, the Indian Railways has decided to operate special trains on various routes. The following is the schedule for these special trains:

  1. 04052/04051 New Delhi-Varanasi-New Delhi Weekly Special Trains (8 trips)

Train 04052, the New Delhi-Varanasi Special Train, will depart from New Delhi every Sunday at 07:20 PM starting from June 4, 2023, and arrive in Varanasi the next day at 09:45 AM. On the return journey, train 04051, the Varanasi-New Delhi Special Train, will depart from Varanasi every Monday at 06:35 PM starting from June 5, 2023, and reach New Delhi the next day at 09:00 AM. These special trains will make stops at Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Pratapgarh stations in both directions.

  1. 04071/04072 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Speed Shakti Weekly Special Trains (10 trips)

Train 04071, the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special Train, will depart from New Delhi every Friday at 11:15 PM starting from June 2, 2023, and arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra the next day at 11:25 AM. On the return journey, train 04072, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Special Train, will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra every Saturday at 06:30 PM starting from June 3, 2023, and reach New Delhi the next day at 06:50 AM. These special trains will make stops at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Jn, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations in both directions.

  1. 04075/04076 New Delhi-Udhampur-New Delhi Weekly Special Trains (10 trips)

Train 04075, the New Delhi-Udhampur Special Train, will depart from New Delhi every Thursday at 11:15 PM starting from June 1, 2023, and arrive in Udhampur the next day at 10:55 AM. On the return journey, train 04076, the Udhampur-New Delhi Special Train, will depart from Udhampur every Friday at 07:00 PM starting from June 2, 2023, and reach New Delhi the next day at 06:50 AM. These special trains, including sleeper and general class coaches, will make stops at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Jn, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi stations in both directions.

4. 04080/04079 New Delhi-Varanasi-New Delhi Special Train (Tri-Weekly) (26 trips)

The 04080 New Delhi-Varanasi Special Train will depart from New Delhi at 07:20 PM every Monday, Friday, and Saturday, starting from June 3, 2023, to June 30, 2023. It will arrive at Shri Varanasi the next day at 09:45 AM. On the return journey, the 04079 Varanasi-New Delhi Special Train will depart from Varanasi at 06:35 PM every Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting from June 4, 2023, to July 1, 2023. It will arrive at New Delhi at 09:00 AM the following morning. This special train with sleeper and general class coaches will halt at Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Pratapgarh stations in both directions.

5. 04081/04082 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi (Weekly) Special Train (8 trips)

The 04081 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special Train will depart from New Delhi at 11:15 PM every Saturday, from June 3, 2023, to June 24, 2023. It will arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:25 AM the next morning. On the return journey, the 04082 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Special Train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 06:30 PM every Sunday, from June 4, 2023, to June 25, 2023. It will arrive at New Delhi at 06:50 AM the following morning. This special train with AC, sleeper, and general class coaches will halt at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Jn, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations in both directions.
