Prime Minister Modi Set to Inaugurate Second Vande Bharat Express, Linking Varanasi to New Delhi
In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the second Vande Bharat Express, establishing a vital rail connection between Varanasi and New Delhi. The Ministry of Railways has granted approval for the introduction of this new train service, identified as train no. 22416/22415, operating six days a week, with the exception of Tuesdays.
The inaugural run, designated as train no. 04015 BSB-NDLS, is slated to commence on December 18, 2023, departing from Varanasi (BSB). The train’s route includes non-commercial stoppages at key stations such as Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Etawah, Tundla, and Aligarh. The schedule for the inaugural run is outlined as follows:
- Varanasi (BSB) – Departure at 14:15
- Prayagraj Junction (PRYJ) – Arrival at 15:50, Departure at 16:05
- Kanpur Central (CNB) – Arrival at 18:00, Departure at 18:15
- Etawah Junction (ETW) – Arrival at 19:30, Departure at 19:40
- Tundla Junction (TDL) – Arrival at 20:35, Departure at 20:45
- Aligarh Junction (ALJN) – Arrival at 21:40, Departure at 21:50
- New Delhi (NDLS) – Open time
This new Vande Bharat Express, with a composition of a T-18 Rake consisting of 16 coaches, marks a significant enhancement in the rail connectivity between Varanasi and the national capital.
