PM Narendra Modi Unveils Transformational Development Projects Worth Rs 7500 Crores in Shirdi, Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at approximately Rs 7500 crores, spanning crucial sectors such as health, rail, road, and oil and gas in Shirdi, Maharashtra. This significant initiative aims to foster progress and development in the region and enhance the well-being of its residents.
Key Highlights of the Development Projects:
- Ayush Hospital: A state-of-the-art Ayush Hospital at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital.
- Railway Electrification: Electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section spanning 186 kilometers.
- Railway Expansion: The inauguration of the 3rd and 4th railway lines, connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval, covering a distance of 24.46 kilometers.
- Road Infrastructure: Four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (Package-I).
- Oil and Gas: Additional facilities introduced at the Manmad Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
- Maternal & Child Health Wing: The foundation stone was laid for the Maternal & Child Health Wing at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital.
These projects collectively signify the Government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure, healthcare, and transportation facilities, ultimately improving the quality of life for the residents of Maharashtra.
Inauguration of Darshan Queue Complex and Nilwande Dam Canal Network:
During this event, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new Darshan Queue Complex at Shirdi, designed to enhance the comfort of devotees visiting the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple. The complex provides a multitude of conveniences, including air-conditioned waiting areas, cloakrooms, toilets, booking counters, and prasad counters. It is a significant step towards ensuring that pilgrims from India and abroad have an improved and hassle-free experience.
Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation the left bank canal network of the Nilwande Dam, spanning 85 kilometers. This network will greatly benefit 182 villages across seven Tehsils, primarily in Ahmednagar and Nashik districts. The Nilwande Dam project, conceived in 1970, represents a critical milestone and comes with an investment of about Rs 5177 crores.
Launch of ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’:
Prime Minister Modi initiated the ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana,’ an essential scheme designed to benefit over 86 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra. It provides an additional annual financial assistance of Rs 6000 to the farmers, ensuring increased support and well-being for local agricultural communities.
Promoting Social Justice and Empowering the Poor:
In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of achieving social justice by eradicating poverty and offering abundant opportunities to the nation’s underprivileged. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ (Development for All) and stressed that the welfare of the poor remains the top priority for the government. The Prime Minister informed the audience about increased budget allocations to support the country’s growing economy and the distribution of Ayushman cards to beneficiaries.
Strengthening Agricultural Sector:
Prime Minister Modi underscored the government’s dedication to empowering farmers, highlighting the success of various schemes and policies aimed at improving their livelihoods. The Prime Minister also announced the launch of the ‘PM Vishwakarma Scheme,’ benefiting families of carpenters, goldsmiths, potters, and sculptors.
In line with these efforts, the ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’ in Maharashtra will further enhance support for small farmers by providing them with an additional Rs 6000, in addition to the existing Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits.
Infrastructure Development for Progress:
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the role of infrastructure development in fostering economic progress and enhancing connectivity. Projects like the expansion of the railway network, four-laning of roads, and dam developments are pivotal in this mission.
