New Rail Line Worth Rs. 889.28 Crore Boosts Connectivity in Haryana
In a significant development aimed at bolstering transportation infrastructure in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New Rail Line today. The 68.5 km long railway line, constructed at a cost of Rs. 889.28 Crore, was dedicated to the nation during a virtual ceremony from Rewari.
The project, undertaken in collaboration with the Haryana state government on a cost-sharing basis, marks a substantial investment in modernizing rail infrastructure, enhancing safety measures, and improving connectivity across the region.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of Haryana’s development for the nation’s progress, highlighting the significant increase in the state’s annual railway budget over the past decade. He underscored the benefits of projects like the Rohtak-Meham-Hansi and Jind-Sonipat new railway lines, as well as the doubling of existing lines such as Ambala Cantt-Dappar, in enhancing ease of living and doing business for millions of residents.
The newly inaugurated Rohtak-Meham-Hansi railway line fills a crucial gap in direct rail connectivity between Rohtak and Hisar, two vital towns and agricultural centers in Haryana. Previously, these areas were indirectly connected via Bhiwani, but the new line significantly reduces travel distance and time, benefiting residents of Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Hisar districts.
With the introduction of new train services on the Rohtak-Hansi route, seamless connectivity with the Indian Rail network is ensured, facilitating enhanced accessibility for residents and promoting industrial and agricultural development in the region. Moreover, the project is expected to stimulate economic growth by creating job opportunities in related sectors, boosting tourism, and fostering regional development.
