Nagpur Station Redevelopment: Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) Undertakes Ambitious Project at a Cost of 487.77 Crores

In a significant development, the Nagpur railway station is set for a major facelift as the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) takes charge of the ambitious redevelopment project, allocating a budget of 487.77 crores for the endeavor.

Completed Milestones:

  • Soil Investigation: Comprehensive soil investigation has been successfully concluded.
  • Site Lab Commissioned: A state-of-the-art site laboratory has been commissioned to ensure precision in construction.
  • Batching Plant Installation: The installation and commissioning of a batching plant have been completed.
  • Utility Shifting on East Side: Successful completion of utility shifting on the east side of the station.
  • Infrastructure Enhancements: Key infrastructure enhancements, including the establishment of milk siding, parking areas, and a new entry/exit for traffic diversion, have been accomplished.
  • Wheel Washing Unit Installation: The installation of a wheel washing unit, vital for maintenance, has been completed.
  • Ticket Counter Shift: A partition wall facilitating the relocation of the ticket counter has been successfully constructed.
  • Approval of Plans: The Emergency Management Plan (EMP) has been approved, and the Design Basis Report (DBR) for the building structure has received official approval.
  • EW1 Progress: Foundation work for EW1 is 98% complete.
  • Column Casting and Retaining Wall: The casting of columns and the construction of retaining walls have been completed to 100% satisfaction.
  • EW2 Advancements: For EW2, the shifting of utilities is complete, and excavation for the basement area is 90% done.

Ongoing Works:

  • EW-1 Basement Slab Casting: Currently, the casting of the basement slab for EW-1 is 80% complete.
  • Ground Floor Construction: Ground floor column casting is 40% complete, with ongoing work on shuttering and reinforcement binding for the ground floor slab (40%).
  • PCC Progress: Progress stands at 60% for Plain Cement Concrete (PCC), 60% for footing, 40% for the retaining wall, and 50% for column casting.
  • Stitch Slab Casting: The casting of the stitch slab is underway, with completion at 30%.
  • WW4 Developments: Excavation work for WW4 is progressing at 60%, PCC work is 50% complete, and the bottom raft is 50% constructed.
