Lufthansa Group Airlines Set to Reinitiate Tel Aviv Flights from January 8, 2024
In a strategic move, Lufthansa Group Airlines have announced plans to recommence flights to Tel Aviv starting January 8, 2024. The initial phase will witness Lufthansa Airlines providing four weekly flights from Frankfurt and three weekly flights from Munich. Austrian Airlines is gearing up for eight weekly connections, while SWISS will contribute five weekly flights. This collective effort by the Lufthansa Group will result in a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv, constituting approximately 30 percent of the regular flight schedule. The Airbus A320 family will be deployed for these operations.
This renewed flight schedule not only facilitates travel to Tel Aviv but also establishes robust transfer connections from Israel to North America through the major hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich.
The detailed flight schedule is slated for publication on Monday, December 18, with bookings officially opening on the same day.
Emphasizing the paramount importance of safety, the Lufthansa Group maintains a vigilant stance on monitoring the security situation in Israel. The airline conglomerate remains in constant communication with both local and international authorities, acknowledging that potential flight schedule adjustments may be necessitated by evolving conditions.
Lufthansa Group Airlines had temporarily suspended scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv since October 9, 2023. In a positive development, flights to Beirut (Lebanon) were successfully reinstated on December 15, marking a joint effort by Lufthansa, SWISS, and Eurowings to restore connectivity in the region.
