Prime Minister Narendra Modi Holds Talks with Amir of Qatar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in high-level discussions today with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the prestigious Amiri Palace in Doha.

Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Modi received a ceremonial welcome at the Amiri Palace, signifying the importance of the diplomatic engagement. The talks between the two leaders covered a diverse range of topics, spanning economic cooperation, investments, energy partnerships, space collaboration, urban infrastructure, cultural ties, and people-to-people connections. Additionally, they exchanged perspectives on pressing regional and global matters.

Expressing gratitude, Prime Minister Modi thanked the Amir for his care towards the sizable Indian community residing in Qatar, which numbers over 8 lakhs. He reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and extended an invitation for the Amir to visit India at his earliest convenience.

In reciprocation, the Amir commended India’s status as a valued partner in the Gulf region and acknowledged the significant contributions of the dynamic Indian community to Qatar’s development. He also highlighted their enthusiastic involvement in various international events hosted by Qatar.

Following the substantive discussions, a banquet lunch was hosted at the Amiri Palace in honor of Prime Minister Modi, further cementing the bond between India and Qatar.
