Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Upcoming Gujarat Visit: Celebrating 20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and Unveiling Ambitious Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat from September 26-27, 2023, packed with significant engagements that encompass celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and inaugurating a slew of transformative projects.

20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

The Prime Minister will kick off his visit by participating in a special program commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. The event, scheduled for September 27th at 10 AM, will take place at Science City in Ahmedabad. It promises to be a grand gathering, with attendees including industry leaders, trade and commerce experts, young entrepreneurs, and students from higher and technical education institutions.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, initiated under the visionary leadership of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, commenced its journey on September 28, 2003. Over the past two decades, it has evolved into a global phenomenon, earning its status as one of India’s foremost business summits. From a modest gathering of about 300 international participants in 2003, the summit has grown exponentially, drawing thousands of delegates from over 135 countries in 2019.

What initially started as a platform to promote Gujarat as a preferred investment destination has now transformed into a catalyst for shaping a “New India.” The extraordinary success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has served as a model for the entire nation and inspired other states to organize similar investment summits.

PM at Bodeli, Chhotaudepur

On the same day, at approximately 12:45 PM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Bodeli, Chhotaudepur, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth more than Rs 5200 crores.

Mission Schools of Excellence

Under the “Mission Schools of Excellence” program, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects valued at over Rs 4500 crore. These initiatives will usher in a massive enhancement of school infrastructure across Gujarat, including the addition of thousands of new classrooms, smart classrooms, computer labs, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) labs, and other essential facilities. The improvements aim to boost the educational landscape in the state.

Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the “Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0” project. Building upon the success of the original “Vidya Samiksha Kendra,” which has played a pivotal role in continuous school monitoring and improving student learning outcomes in Gujarat, this upgraded version will establish Vidya Samiksha Kendras in all districts and blocks of the state.

During the program, Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate several other development projects to the nation, including a new bridge across the Narmada River on the ‘Odara Dabhoi-Sinor-Malsar-Asa road’ in Taluka Sinor, Vadodara district; the Chab Talav redevelopment project; a water supply project in Dahod; around 400 newly constructed houses for economically weaker sections in Vadodara; the Village Wi-Fi project, spanning 7500 villages across Gujarat; and the newly constructed Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Dahod.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the water supply project in Chhotaudepur, a flyover bridge in Godhra, Panchmahal, and an FM Radio studio in Dahod under the ‘Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND)’ scheme of the Central Government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit promises to be a momentous occasion, marking both the celebration of Gujarat’s economic prowess and the inauguration of transformative projects that will have a lasting impact on the state’s development landscape.
