CISF Detects Medicines Worth Over Rs. 57 Lakh at IGI Airport, New Delhi

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi detected a huge quantity of medicines worth approximately Rs. 57.30 lakh on Monday. The suspicious activities of a passenger, identified as Mr. Vakeel Ahmed, bound for Bahrain by Gulf Air flight No. GF-131, were noticed by CISF surveillance and intelligence staff during behaviour detection. Ahmed was then diverted for random checking of his baggage.
Upon screening Ahmed’s two baggage through the X-ray machine, CISF personnel noticed suspicious images. A physical check was conducted, and a significant quantity of medicines was discovered, which the passenger could not produce supporting documents for.
The matter was reported to CISF and customs officials, and the passenger, along with the detected medicines, was handed over to Customs for further action.
