Northern Railway GM inspects Anand Vihar Terminal to oversee festival travel arrangements

Northern Railway General Manager Ashutosh Gangal on Tuesday inspected the Anand Vihar Terminal Railway station in the national capital to oversee the preparations made for providing convenient and comfortable rail travel during Diwali and chhat festivals.

He took account of passenger amenities at the station and was briefed by the officials regarding the festive preparations, in terms of organised passenger movement, orderly train boarding/deboarding, additional food stalls, water, toilets and medical facilities, public announcement and display systems and security arrangements.

Expressing satisfaction with the status of work being done, the General Manager exhorted the staff to set high standards of efficiency and dedication to duty so that the rail travellers have a pleasant and hassle-free journey at all times.

He further instructed everyone that all laid protocols for COVID-19 are to be strictly followed by the Railways more so during the festival rush. Also the passengers are to be sensitized to take all safety precautions.

He later held discussions with IRSDC officials who apprised him regarding the status of work of development of ANVT station. Representatives of recognized Unions also met the General Manager during his visit there.
