RPF’s Commitment to Passenger Safety and Security Shines Through in October 2023

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) remains dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of railway passengers. With an unwavering commitment to safeguarding railway assets and the well-being of travelers, RPF has been working tirelessly to provide a secure and comfortable travel experience.

In the month of October 2023, RPF continued its efforts to enhance passenger safety and security, contributing to the reliable freight transport services offered by Indian Railways.

Key Achievements in October 2023:

  1. Operation “Nanhe Faristey” – Reuniting Lost Children: Under the mission “Nanhe Faristey,” RPF played a pivotal role in reuniting more than 601 lost children with their families, showcasing its commitment to the well-being of the younger passengers.
  2. Anti-Human Trafficking Efforts (Operation AAHT): RPF’s Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) rescued 39 individuals from the clutches of traffickers, demonstrating the force’s dedication to combating such heinous crimes.
  3. Operation “Jeevan Raksha” – Saving Lives: Swift action under “Jeevan Raksha” saved the lives of 262 passengers who were at risk of accidents on platforms and railway tracks.
  4. Empowering Women Passengers – “Meri Saheli” Initiative: RPF’s “Meri Saheli” initiative focused on the security of women passengers, with 232 teams attending 13,664 trains and providing security assurance to 423,803 lady passengers. RPF also took action against 5,722 individuals found in coaches reserved for women.
  5. Cracking Down on Touts (Operation “Uplabdh”): RPF’s fight against touts resulted in the arrest of 490 individuals, with the seizure of future tickets valued at Rs. 43.96 lakhs, including 42 illegal software.
  6. Operation “NARCOS” – Combating Drug Crimes: RPF arrested 99 individuals and seized narcotics valued at Rs. 5.99 crores during October 2023, contributing to the fight against drug-related crimes.
  7. Swift Response to Passengers’ Concerns: RPF addressed over 30,300 security-related passenger complaints through the Rail Madad Portal and helpline (No. 139 integrated with Emergency Response Support System No. 112), ensuring prompt actions for resolution.
  8. Operation “Yatri Suraksha” – Protecting Passengers: RPF arrested 256 criminals involved in offenses against passengers, reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety.
  9. Ensuring Safety through “Operation Sanraksha”: RPF arrested 33 individuals involved in the perilous act of stone pelting on running trains, aiming to maintain passenger safety.
  10. Assisting Those in Need (Operation Seva): With a humanitarian approach, RPF provided assistance to 272 elderly, sick, or injured passengers during their rail travels.
  11. Curbing Illegal Goods Transport (Operation Satark): Under “Operation Satark,” RPF seized illegal tobacco products worth Rs. 10,33,149 and illegal liquor worth Rs. 26,12,656, apprehending 127 individuals, contributing to the fight against illegal goods transport.
