In a momentous event today, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha bid farewell to the first group of Haj pilgrims from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at Srinagar International Airport. The Lt Governor took the opportunity to personally interact with the pilgrims, extending his greetings and best wishes for their spiritual journey.
The inaugural batch of pilgrims marks the beginning of a series of 40 flights scheduled to operate between June 7 and June 22 from Srinagar International Airport.
This year, a total of 12,079 pilgrims from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, along with 452 pilgrims from Ladakh UT, will partake in the Haj pilgrimage.
Upon their arrival in Jeddah, the Consulate General of India, under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, will receive and assist the Haj pilgrims.
