Tragedy Strikes as Monsoon Reserve Rake Rolls on, Six Laborers Run Over near Jajpur Keonjhar Road
Jajpur Keonjhar Road – In a shocking incident today, a monsoon reserve rake, which was stationed at the sick line near Jajpur Keonjhar Road, rolled on due to intense thunderstorms. This unfortunate event occurred while several contractual laborers, engaged by a contractor for railway work, sought shelter under the stabled rake to shield themselves from the powerful Norwester wind and rain.
Tragically, six individuals lost their lives as they were run over by the rolling rake, while two others sustained injuries. Promptly responding to the distress call, railway authorities swiftly arranged for the injured persons to be transported to SCB Medical College and Hospital for immediate medical attention.
The gravity of the situation led to the urgent arrival of Divisional Railway Official, led by DRM Khurda Road, at the accident site. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of this unfortunate incident and ensure that necessary measures are taken to prevent such mishaps in the future.
