Railways Cancel, Divert and Short-Terminate Several Trains Due to Rising Water Levels

Train services on the Firozpur–Jalandhar section have been severely affected after water levels touched the danger mark at bridge no. 84 between Makhu and Gidarpindi railway stations. As a precaution, the Railways has announced cancellations, diversions, short terminations, and short originations of several trains.

According to officials, the following services stand affected:

  • Cancelled Trains: JUC–FZR (74939) on September 5, FZR–JUC (74932) on September 5 and 6.

  • Short Termination/Origination: Multiple trains including JUC–FZR (74931, 74935, 74937), FZR–JUC (74934, 74936, 74940), and others have been short terminated or short originated at stations like Lohian Khas (LNK) and Makhu (MXH) on September 5.

  • Diverted Trains: FZR–DHN (13308) and DHN–FZR (13307) have been diverted via Firozpur–Moga–Ludhiana route.

  • Other Changes: JUC–HSX (54638) departed late from Jalandhar City, while HSX–JUC (54637) services have been restored.

In addition, due to waterlogging between Amritsar (ASR) and Dera Baba Nanak (DBNK), several passenger services including 74651, 74653, 74655 (short terminated at Hardo Warblal – HDWL) and 74652, 74654, 74656, 74658 (short originated from HDWL) were affected on September 5.

Railway authorities said services will be gradually restored once water levels recede and track safety is ensured. Passengers have been advised to check the latest updates before planning their journeys.
