PM Modi to Inaugurate and Dedicate Over 2000 Railway Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs. 41,000 Crores
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to mark a significant milestone in India’s railway infrastructure development by laying the foundation stone, inaugurating, and dedicating more than 2000 railway projects worth over Rs. 41,000 crores. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 26th at 12:30 PM via video conferencing.
Among the key highlights of the event is the foundation stone laying for the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. With an investment of over Rs. 19,000 crores, these stations across 27 states and union territories will be transformed into modern ‘City Centres’, integrating various city amenities and offering state-of-the-art facilities to passengers.
Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate the revamped Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh, which has been refurbished at a cost of approximately Rs. 385 crores. The station features segregated arrival and departure facilities, modern passenger amenities, and ample parking space.
Moreover, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation 1500 Road Over Bridges and Underpasses. Spanning across 24 states and union territories, these projects, totaling around Rs. 21,520 crores, are aimed at reducing congestion, enhancing safety and connectivity, and improving the efficiency of rail travel nationwide.
