Low pressure area over south Bay of Bengal, may concentrate into depression
A low pressure area has formed over equatorial Indian ocean and adjoining central parts of south Bay of Bengal on Saturday which is very likely to concentrate into a depression causing rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next three to four days.
The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards Sri Lanka – south Tamil Nadu coast and reach near Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast on November 25.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukottai, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts.
Nagapattinam Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Ramanathapuram districts may witness Extremely heavy rainfall.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail over Central parts of South Bay of Bengal.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph is very likely over southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, along and off Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast and gulf of Mannar region next week.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea from November 25. Fishermen out in the sea are advised to return to coast by Saturday evening.
