Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid tributes to Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the Central Hall of Parliament House today. Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Prahlad Joshi; Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with other Members of Parliament and officials of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats also attended the program.
Paying rich tributes to Veer Savarkar, Birla, in his tweet message, said that Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar ji was a great freedom fighter and social reformer whose revolutionary ideas and patriotic poems encouraged the nation’s youth to take up the clarion call for freedom. Shri Birla added that Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s selfless service and sacrifice for Mother India shall always be remembered by the nation.
