Konkan Railway Cracks Down on Ticketless Travel: ₹2.33 Crore Penalty Collected in November Alone

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has significantly intensified its ticket checking campaign to ensure safe and hassle-free journeys for genuine passengers.
In November 2025, a record 1,070 special ticket checking drives were conducted across the scenic Konkan route, catching 42,965 ticketless or irregular travellers. A total of ₹2.33 crore was recovered as fare and penalty during the month.
From January to November 2025, Konkan Railway carried out 7,483 special drives, detecting 2,90,786 unauthorised passengers and realising ₹17.83 crore in dues and penalties.
With the winter and Christmas festive rush approaching, KRCL has announced that ticket checking drives will be further intensified across the entire 738-km route.
Passengers have been urged to always purchase valid tickets before boarding. Travelling without a proper ticket is a punishable offence, and strict action will continue against violators.
Konkan Railway reiterated its commitment to providing safe, smooth and comfortable travel to all authorised passengers.
