IRCTC Launches a New Tourist Train “SHRI RAMAYANA EXPRESS” from Delhi on 28th March, 2020

Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (A Govt of India Enterprise) the tourism wing of Ministry of Railways announces the launch of New Tourist Train – Shri Ramayana Express Ex Delhi on 28th March 2020 during the pious period of Navratra for the Pilgrims.
An exclusive tourist train associated with the story of Lord Shri Ram shall be launched with 10 train Coaches having two variants of Sleeper Class (Non AC) and 3 Tier AC class.
5 Train Coaches each shall be attached in this train and the booking will purely be on first come first take basis.


A similar tourism package was introduced last year in Sleeper Class which has attained tremendous attention and the response of the general public in which all the available seats were booked in merely 7 days time.
Considering the previous response IRCTC Ltd has decided to launch this unique product in 3 Tier AC Class along with Sleeper Class Category. Train will commence Ex Delhi. Interested tourists may entrain this train from – Delhi Safdarjung, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareily and Lucknow.

In a 16 Nights -17 Days tour, tourists will be visiting the tourists places associated with Lord Ram also known as “Ramayana Circuit of India”. Major places covered in this journey are Ram Janmbhoomi and Hanuman Garhi at Ayodhya, Bharat Mandir at Nandigram, Sita Mata Mandir at Sitamarhi (Bihar), and Janakpur (Nepal), Tulsi Manas Mandir and Sankat Mochan Mandir at Varanasi, Sita Samahit Sthal at Sitamarhi (UP), Triveni Sangam , Hanuman Mandir and Bharadwaj Ashram at Prayag, Shringi Rishi Mandir at Shringverpur , Ramghat and Sati Anusuiya Mandir at Chitrakoot, Panchvati at Nasik, Anjanadri Hill and Hanuman Janm Sthal at Hampi & Jyotirlinga Shiva Mandir at Rameshwaram.

Tourists will be offered pure vegetarian meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities in Dharmashalas (SL Class booking travelers) / Hotels (AC Class booking Travelers), all transfers & sight-seeing arrangements at tourist places by Non AC buses and dedicated tour manager of IRCTC who will be travelling with the tourists during the entire tour.

Considering Navratra period, all the preparations to be served to the travelers will be cooked without Onion Garlic. Fasting food will also be available for the tourists including – Sabudana Khichdi , Fruits , Curd , Potato Chat etc.

Interested tourists may opt SL Class package for 360 Seats at a per Person Cost of Rs.16065 Per Person , whereas AC Class Package is open for the booking of only 330 Seats on first come first take basis at a per person cost of Rs.26775/-.

Further, to cover the tourist places of Ramayana Circuit of Srilanka along with the Indian Ramayana Circuit, an add on tour to Srilanka has also been launched with 40 Seats only. Interested tourists are required on to de board the Ramayana Express Tourist Train on 15th Day at Chennai i.e. on 11-04-2020 and will be offered economy class flight ticket on Srilankan Airlines to Colombo where in tourists will be offered a night stay for 3 Nights in Srilanka at Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Negombo. This leg will be charged additionally @ Rs.37800/- Per Person. Major highlights of this leg of journey includes Sita Mata Mandir , Ashok Vatika , Vibhishana Temple and famous Shiva Temple at Munneshwaram – Munnavari and much more. Only 40 Seats will be available for booking of Srilanka Tour. Return Journey will be booked from Colombo to Delhi.
