Chhattisgarh Experiences Heavy Rainfall: Multiple Regions Receive Significant Precipitation
Chhattisgarh, September 21, 2023 – Chhattisgarh witnessed a substantial episode of heavy to very heavy rainfall between 0830 IST on September 20, 2023, and 0830 IST on September 21, 2023, impacting various parts of the state. The meteorological data reveals that during this period, two stations reported very heavy rain, while 15 stations experienced heavy rainfall.
Among the notable rainfall statistics, Lormi in Mungeli district received an impressive 17 cm of rainfall, making it one of the most rain-affected areas during this time frame. Bilha in Bilaspur district recorded 14 cm of rainfall, while Mungeli, also located in Mungeli district, reported 11 cm of precipitation. Simga in Baloda Bazar district also witnessed 11 cm of rainfall, while Patharia in Mungeli district received 10 cm.
Additional regions that experienced noteworthy rainfall include Pallari/Palari in Baloda Bazar district with 9 cm of rainfall and Masturi in Bilaspur district with an equivalent 9 cm. Champa in Janjgir district recorded 8 cm of rainfall, as did Labhandih in Raipur district and Kota in Bilaspur district.
Rajim in Gariaband district, Nawagarh in Bemetara district, Akaltara in Janjgir district, Baloda Bazar in Baloda Bazar district, Mahasamund in Mahasamund district, Seovrinarayan in Janjgir district, and Bilaigarh in Baloda Bazar district all received 7 cm of rainfall.
