Central Railway to operate 225 more suburban services from Monday
Central Railway currently operates 481 special suburban services as notified by the Maharashtra government and approved by the Railways.
In order to maintain social distancing and avoid crowding, Central Railway has taken the decision to increase the number of daily special suburban services from 481 to 706 from 19th October, an official release stated.
With this addition, the main line of the Central Railway would have 499 sururban services, with 309 slow and 190 fast services, Harbour line 187 services and Transharbour line 20 services.
The commuters are requested to follow social distancing norms and wear mask, while boarding, alighting at railway stations and travelling in special suburban trains, the release stated.
