Admiral Karambir Singh reviews Navy’s combat-readiness at Karwar Naval Base
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh reviewed the operational readiness and of the naval forces at Karwar Naval Base on Thursday and complimented them for maintaining peak combat-readiness over the past months in spite of challenges posed by COVID-19.
Addressing the combatants of the Carrier Battle Group, the navy chief highlighted the nation’s appreciation for the Navy’s contributions in ‘Op Samudra Setu’ towards for repatriation of distressed citizens from Indian Ocean Rim (IOR) countries and towards providing medical and logistics assistance to friendly neighbours in the region as part of ‘Mission SAGAR’.
Giving an overview of the prevailing security situation, he stated that the Navy would continue maintaining a high-tempo of operations in coming months.
Admiral Singh highlighted that tri-service synergy and coordination has peaked with establishment of the Department of Military Affairs as was visibly demonstrated in the joint response of the three services to recent events.
He also advised offiicals towards ensuring continued compliance of protocols by naval personnel and their families, in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.
