Heavy Rainfall Batters Tamil Nadu and Kerala; Pamban Records 113 mm

Several parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala witnessed heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours, ending at 5:30 AM on October 21, 2025. According to IMD data, Pamban in Tamil Nadu received the highest rainfall at 113 mm, followed by Chidambaram (84 mm), Nagapattinam (83 mm), and Karaikal (83 mm). Other notable stations included Ennore Port (63.5 mm), Pechiparai (42.5 mm), Aduthurai (38 mm), Kanyakumari (27 mm), Chennai-Meenambakkam (24 mm), and Cuddalore (23 mm).

In Kerala, Thattathumala recorded 65 mm, while Thiruvananthapuram and Kunnamangalam received 50 mm and 65 mm respectively. Rainfall was also reported in Kalamassery (62 mm), Vaikom (59.5 mm), and Kozhikode (19 mm).

In Andhra Pradesh, Nellore reported 31 mm of rainfall, while Tirupati in Rayalaseema recorded 40 mm.

Widespread rain activity is likely to continue over southern peninsular India in the coming days, according to weather officials.
