Heavy Rainfall Batters Parts of Kerala; Ernakulam Records Highest Totals

Kerala witnessed widespread heavy rainfall between 8:30 a.m. on October 18 and 5:30 a.m. on October 19, 2025, with several areas recording significant precipitation. The highest rainfall was reported from Boat Jetty, Ernakulam, which received 145 mm, followed closely by Dh Ground, Ernakulam with 139.5 mm. Other major recordings include Palemad (Malappuram) 122 mm, Mattancherry (Ernakulam) 117 mm, and Kadavanthra (Ernakulam) 103 mm.

In the central and northern districts, Mangalam Dam (Palakkad) registered 80 mm, Kunnamangalam (Kozhikode) 71 mm, Athirappilly (Thrissur) 65 mm, and Chimoni (Thrissur) 56.5 mm.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised residents to remain cautious as intermittent rains may continue in isolated pockets.
