Union Minister Parshottam Rupala Highlights Prosperity through Blend of Modern and Traditional Agriculture at CLFMA Convention

New Delhi: Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, emphasized the significance of integrating contemporary and traditional agricultural and animal husbandry methods to enhance rural prosperity. He conveyed this message while addressing the 64th National Convention of CLFMA (Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers’ Association) of India, held at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Place, Janpath, New Delhi. Rupala commended CLFMA’s efforts, emphasizing the role of constructive discussions in shaping government policies.

Rupala highlighted the Prime Minister’s dedication to the welfare of livestock farmers, which prompted the establishment of separate ministries for fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairy. He urged CLFMA to explore innovative solutions for tackling the issue of ‘Parali’ (crop residue) by converting it into animal feed. This approach would address the problem of straw management and provide cost-effective fodder for animals. Rupala cautioned against the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, as it contributes to land degradation.

Inaugurating the event as the chief guest, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala also unveiled the Livestock Survey Report 2023. The program saw Divya Kumar Gulati, Convenor of the event and Deputy Chairman of CLFMA of India, extend a warm welcome to the attendees. Suresh Deora, Chairman of CLFMA, highlighted the organization’s future plans. The event also recognized Nadir B Godrej, Chairman and MD of Godrej Industries, and retired IAS officer Tarun Sridhar with the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of CLFMA. The convention, attended by around 500 experts from India and abroad, featured notable figures such as CLFMA Secretary Abhay Saha and North Zone Chairman Anup Kalra.
