Special Trains Announced to Ease Christmas and Winter Rush: Mumbai to Mangaluru and Karmali Routes

In a bid to accommodate the increased demand during the festive season and winter holidays of 2023, Central Railway has announced the operation of 16 special trains between Mumbai and Mangaluru, as well as Mumbai and Karmali. The schedule and details of these special services are as follows:

Mumbai to Mangaluru Weekly Special (4 services)

Train Number: 01453

  • Departure: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 22:15 hrs on Friday, 22.12.2023 and 29.12.2023 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Mangaluru at 17:15 hrs the next day

Train Number: 01454

  • Departure: Mangaluru at 18:45 hrs on Saturday, 23.12.2023 and 30.12.2023 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 14:25 hrs the next day

Composition: 21 ICF Coaches – One AC-2 Tier, Five AC-3 Tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 7 General Second Class, including 2 Luggage cum Guard’s brake van.

Mumbai to Mangaluru Weekly AC Special (4 services)

Train Number: 01155

  • Departure: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 22:15 hrs on Tuesday, 26.12.2023 and 02.01.2024 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Mangaluru at 17:15 hrs the next day

Train Number: 01156

  • Departure: Mangaluru at 18:45 hrs on Wednesday, 27.12.2023 and 03.01.2024 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 14:25 hrs the next day

Composition: 22 LHB Coaches – One AC-First, Three AC-2 Tier, 15 AC-3 Tier, One Pantry Car, and Two Generator Cars.

Halts for both Mumbai-Mangaluru trains: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Canacona, Karwar, Kumta, Murudeshwar, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal, and Thokur.

Mumbai to Karmali Weekly Special (4 services)

Train Number: 01455

  • Departure: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 22:15 hrs on Sunday, 24.12.2023 and 31.12.2023 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Karmali at 11:15 hrs the next day

Train Number: 01456

  • Departure: Karmali at 11:45 hrs on Monday, 25.12.2023 and 01.01.2024 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 23:45 hrs the same day

  • Departure: Karmali at 11:45 hrs on Friday, 22.12.2023 and 29.12.2023 (2 trips)
  • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai at 23:45 hrs the same day

Composition: 22 LHB Coaches – One AC-First, Three AC-2 Tier, 15 AC-3 Tier, One Pantry Car, and Two Generator Cars.

Halts for both Mumbai-Karmali trains: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, and Thivim.

Reservation Information: Bookings for special trains with numbers 01453, 01155, 01455/01456, and 01459/01460 will open on 22.11.2023 at all computerized reservation centers and on the website http://irctc.co.in.
