Shiva Gopal Mishra and Dr. N. Kanniah Elected Unopposed as President and General Secretary Respectively in AIRF Triennial Elections
The “Centenary Conference” of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) witnessed a significant electoral milestone as Shiva Gopal Mishra and Dr. N. Kanniah were elected unopposed as the National General Secretary and President, respectively. Held at the Tal Katora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on April 25, 2024, the conference saw over 2500 delegates from affiliated unions of Indian Railways participating.
The triennial elections also saw the unanimous election of Office Bearers, Zonal Secretaries, and Working Committee Members for the next three years. Notably, Shri J.R. Bhosale was elected as the Working President, and C.H. Shankara Rao assumed the position of National Treasurer. Additionally, Mukesh Mathur, Venu P Nair, Mukesh Galav, S.K Tyagi, K.L Gupta, A. M. D’ Cruz, and Amit Ghosh were elected as Assistant General Secretaries of AIRF.
Furthermore, various individuals from affiliated unions of AIRF were elected as Vice Presidents, Zonal Secretaries, and Working Committee Members for the upcoming term.
First Annual Convention of All India Railway Pensioners Welfare Federation Concludes
The fourth day of the centenary convention of AIRF marked the inaugural annual convention of the ‘All India Railway Pensioners Welfare Federation’ (AIRPWF) at the Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi on April 26. The event saw the participation of thousands of pensioners from affiliated unions of AIRF across Indian Railways.
Chaired by Shri S.P Singh, Joint Secretary of AIRPWF, the conference witnessed the presence of dignitaries including AIRF General Secretary Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra, Working President Shri J.R. Bhosle, Treasurer Shri C.H. Shankara Rao, National Women Convener Smt. Praveena Singh, and General Secretaries of affiliated unions.
Addressing the convention, General Secretary Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra urged members to establish branches of AIRPWF in line with affiliated unions of AIRF throughout Indian Railways to bolster the Federation. He emphasized the importance of solidarity in fighting for the restoration of the Old Pension scheme, urging members to strengthen themselves against potential government actions.
The convention concluded with various speakers congratulating the members of AIRPWF on their inaugural annual convention and pledging to reinforce AIRPWF within their respective unions.
