RINL Records Impressive Production Performance in April 2023, Its Best Ever for Any April Month Since Inception
RINL achieved this record-breaking production with two blast furnace operations
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has recorded an impressive production performance in April 2023, the best ever for any April month since its inception. The company has produced 4,19,000 tons of hot metal in the month, which is a 20% growth over the corresponding period last year (CPLY-April, 2022).
RINL achieved this record-breaking production with two blast furnace operations, producing 2,02,000 tons of hot metal from Blast furnace-1 (Godavari) and 2,18,000 tons of hot metal from Blast furnace-2 (Krishna). The unit also produced 61,000 tons of products from the Structural Mill, which is more than 100% growth over CPLY, and 1,43,000 tons of finished steel from expansion units, including Wire Rod Mill-2, Special Bar Mill, and Structural Mill. The unit also produced 80,000 tons of high-end value-added steel, which is more than 100% growth over CPLY, making it the unit’s best performance achieved for ANY April month since inception.
On the technical parameters front, the BF shop (both Blast Furnace 1 and 2 together) achieved a Blast furnace productivity of 2.09 tons (of Hot Metal) /day/cum, while Blast Furnace-1 and Blast Furnace-2 achieved a Blast furnace productivity of 2.01 tons (of Hot Metal) /day/cum and 2.17 tons (of Hot Metal) /day/cum, respectively. This performance is the best for ANY April month since inception, registering an impressive growth of 20%, 14%, and 26%, respectively, over the corresponding period last year (CPLY-April, 2022).
RINL has made a flying start in the new financial year with its impressive production performance in April 2023, and it is a significant achievement for the company.
