Reliance Foundation Unveils 10-Point Relief Measures for Odisha Train Accident Victims; Deploys Disaster Management Team for Assistance
Odisha, June 5, 2023 – Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries, has announced a comprehensive set of relief measures consisting of ten points to support the victims affected by the recent train accident in Odisha. The foundation has also mobilized its disaster management team to aid in the ongoing relief efforts.
The relief measures unveiled by Reliance Foundation include:
- Free Fuel for Ambulances: Ambulances involved in the disaster response will receive free fuel through the Jio-BP network.
- Provision of Free Ration Supplies: Affected families will receive free ration supplies, including flour, sugar, dal, rice, salt, and cooking oil, for the next six months through Reliance Stores.
- Free Medicines: Injured individuals will be provided with free medicines to support their immediate recovery needs. Those requiring hospitalization due to the accident will also receive necessary medical treatment.
- Counselling Services: Counselling services will be made available to offer emotional and psychosocial support to the affected individuals and families.
- Employment Opportunities: Reliance Foundation will provide employment opportunities through Jio and Reliance Retail to one family member of the deceased, as needed, to help them rebuild their lives.
- Support Aids for People with Disabilities: Individuals with disabilities impacted by the accident will receive support aids such as wheelchairs and artificial limbs to assist them in their daily lives.
- Specialist Skill Training: Those impacted by the accident will be offered specialist skill training to enhance their capabilities and enable them to find new employment opportunities.
- Microfinance and Training Opportunities for Women: Women who may have lost their sole earning family member will be provided with microfinance and training opportunities, empowering them to regain financial independence.
- Livestock Provision for Rural Families: Reliance Foundation will offer alternate livelihood support to rural families affected by the accident by providing livestock such as cows, buffalos, goats, and poultry.
- Free Mobile Connectivity: A family member of the bereaved will receive free mobile connectivity for one year, enabling them to rebuild their livelihoods and stay connected.
These relief measures aim to address the immediate needs of the affected individuals and families and provide them with the necessary support to recover and rebuild their lives.
