Rapid Response by Delhi Fire Service Prevents Disaster at Signature Apartments

New Delhi, September 26, 2023 – In a swift and heroic response, the Delhi Fire Service successfully averted a potential disaster at Signature Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar following a distressing fire incident.

A PG (paying guest) fire call was urgently received, prompting an immediate deployment of emergency resources. A total of 12 fire tenders were swiftly dispatched to the site, showcasing the remarkable efficiency and readiness of the Delhi Fire Service.

The flames, which had initially threatened the safety of the building’s occupants, were completely extinguished by the diligent efforts of the firefighting teams. Fortunately, all 35 girls residing in the apartment complex were swiftly evacuated to safety, with no reported injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated from a meter board installation near the staircase, rapidly spreading to the upper floors. Notably, the building possesses only one staircase, adding complexity to the evacuation efforts.

The Signature Apartments complex consists of a structure comprising a ground floor and three additional stories (G+3), with an additional kitchen situated on the terrace.

The rapid response by the Delhi Fire Service, coupled with their effective firefighting strategies, played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the residents and preventing a potential catastrophe. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the invaluable contribution of emergency services in protecting lives and property.

The Delhi Fire Service continues to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of the fire and ensure that necessary preventive measures are in place to avoid such occurrences in the future.
