Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Celebrates Holi with Soldiers in Leh: Highlights and Insights

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh immersed himself in the vibrant festivities of Holi alongside soldiers in Leh on March 24, 2024. Accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande and General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps Lt Gen Rashim Bali, Singh lauded the soldiers’ valor, determination, and sacrifices amidst harsh terrains and adverse weather.

Singh emphasized Ladakh’s significance as India’s bastion of bravery, likening it to the capital cities of Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Expressing gratitude, he highlighted the soldiers’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, allowing citizens to celebrate festivals with peace.

The Raksha Mantri advocated for a new tradition, urging Armed Forces chiefs to initiate festival celebrations with soldiers a day before. He emphasized the importance of integrating such celebrations into the nation’s cultural fabric.

During the event, Singh paid homage to fallen heroes at the War Memorial, Leh, honoring their supreme sacrifice for the country.

Despite adverse weather affecting his planned visit to Siachen, Singh connected with soldiers stationed there via phone, extending heartfelt Holi greetings. He reassured them of an impending visit and interaction. While Siachen plans were altered, Singh’s celebration of Holi with soldiers in Leh underscored his unwavering support and solidarity with the armed forces.
