“Railways Announce Experimental Stoppage of Trains for Passenger Convenience”
Experimental stoppages of trains over the Central Railway and Eastern Railway have been announced
Experimental stoppages of trains over the Central Railway and Eastern Railway have been announced for the convenience of rail passengers. The Railways have decided to provide stoppages of 11057/11058 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal-Amritsar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Express at Devlali station over the Central Railway and 14003/14004 New Delhi-Malda Town-New Delhi (bi-weekly) Express at Abhaipur station over the Eastern Railway on an experimental basis for six months.
The stoppage for the 11057/11058 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal-Amritsar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Express will be effective from 06.05.2023. The 11057 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal-Amritsar Express will arrive at Devlali station at 0254 hrs and depart at 0255 hrs. The 11058 Amritsar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal Express will arrive at Devlali station at 2040 hrs and depart at 2041 hrs.
For the 14003/14004 New Delhi-Malda Town-New Delhi (bi-weekly) Express, the stoppage will be effective from 04.05.2023. The 14003 New Delhi-Malda Town Express will arrive at Abhaipur station at 1428 hrs and depart at 1430 hrs. The 14004 Malda Town-New Delhi (bi-weekly) Express will arrive at Abhaipur station at 1640 hrs and depart at 1642 hrs.
The stoppage of these trains will be an experimental measure for six months, and it will provide a great convenience to rail passengers who previously had to travel to other stations for boarding and alighting. The Railways will be closely monitoring the performance of these stoppages during the experimental period to evaluate their feasibility and impact on the train schedules. Based on the findings, the Railways will take appropriate decisions on making these stoppages permanent or discontinuing them
