Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Reviews Chhath Arrangements at New Delhi Railway Station
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, conducted a visit to the New Delhi Railway Station today to oversee the Chhath arrangements implemented by the railway authorities. The inspection included the General Manager of Northern Railway, Shobhan Chaudhuri, Sukhwinder Singh, DRM Delhi Division, and other senior railway officers.
During the visit, Minister Vaishnaw engaged with passengers on trains and those standing on platforms. He meticulously inspected all arrangements, including those at the passenger holding area, booking counters, and security setups. The minister also made a thorough examination of the mini control setup at Platform No. 16. Stressing the importance of ensuring maximum comfort for travelers, he urged the railway officials to extend the same level of effort for passengers traveling in the reverse direction.
In light of the upcoming Chhath festival, Indian Railways has introduced festival trains for the convenience of passengers. The initiative aims to enable passengers from Delhi and surrounding areas to reach their homes in a timely manner, allowing them to celebrate the Chhath festival with their families. It also facilitates their participation in the traditional Nahay Khay and Kharna Parv, integral aspects of the Chhath festival celebrations.
